The road along one of Nova Scotia’s most scenic shores will soon be an easier drive because of a tender announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works. The tender is for repaving of Trunk 7 (Marine Drive) from the intersection of Dewolfes Road east for 10.2 kilometres to the intersection of the Mooseland Road. “We’ve been doing a lot of upgrading on Trunk 7 during the last few construction seasons,” said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. “This project will benefit residents and visitors.” The Department of Transportation and Public Works’ highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
