Venkaiah maintains suspense over BJPs CM candidate in Goa

first_imgPanaji, Jan 22 (PTI) Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu today maintained suspense over BJPs chief ministerial candidate post-Assembly election in Goa stating that “MLAs will decide and the partys parliamentary board will take the final call.””I dont know what you are trying to convey to me. A person from Goa will be made CM. Let the election be over, let MLAs meet, and the parliamentary board will take a final call,” Naidu said responding to a question on whether any leader from the Centre would be sent to Goa to be the chief minister post-polls.BJP leader Nitin Gadkari had recently said the next chief minister of Goa would be either from elected representatives or would be sent from the Centre. His statement had fuelled speculations about Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar being sent back to join Goa politics.”There is nothing wrong (in sending people from the centre). You are not importing people from other countries. If it is the MLAs desire (to have leader from the Centre) there is nothing wrong,” Naidu said refusing to reveal BJPs strategy.”Any wise politician will not speculate on ifs and buts. Gadkari has made it clear. Whatever he has said, there is no need to read more in to it,” he said.Responding to a question on whether BJP will allow Goas own bullfight sport on the lines of Jallikattu, Naidu said BJP has its ownconcern towards the cultural sentiments of the people of the state and we go by state governments wish.advertisement”If such situation comes any time in any state based on the reality, based on the wish of the people and situation of the law, the government will act,” he said referring to the bullfights.
