A police search this morning for a car thief prompted the CHP to shut down all southbound lanes on the San Diego (405) Freeway between Nordhoff Street and the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway, causing traffic for a while to be backed up for about a mile and a half. Officials said the lanes have been reopened, but the freeway’s Nordhoff onramp and offramp remain closed. Authorities haven’t yet released details about the crime attributed to the suspect being sought.
